(50 Miles)
This ride takes the American
River Parkway Bike Trail to Discovery Park. El Centro Road is the
principle conduit to the Sacramento International Airport. The Garden
Highway provides return to Discovery Park and to the ride start.
Clarksburg
Loop
(70 Miles)
This ride (aka Sacramento River Route 70) visits both
east and west banks of the Sacramento River. The ride takes the American
River Parkway Bike Trail & G Street to Central Sacramento, subsequently
visiting the west side of the Sacramento River on the Sacramento
River Bike Trail. The route goes through Freeport, negotiates a
quiet, rural loop in the Clarksburg area, and
returns to the ride start via Yolo County's South River Road and the
American River Parkway Bike
Trail.
El Dorado Hills Loop
(47 Miles)
This ride takes the
American River Parkway Bike Trail and Folsom Blvd to Folsom. Iron
Point, Placerville, and White Rock Roads,
Serrano and Silva Valley Parkways, and
Green Valley Road form a looping return to Folsom. From the Folsom
Truss Bridge the American River Parkway Bike Trail returns to Carmichael.
Folsom Lake Loop
(81 Miles)
This ride circumnavigates
Folsom Lake. The route takes the American River Parkway Bike Trail
from Carmichael to Folsom. Green Valley Road, Salmon Falls Road,
and Hwy 49 take the rider to Auburn. Multiple short, flat, pleasant
roads navigate the Loomis Basin to Orangevale, where the Bike Trail is
rejoined and returns to Carmichael.
Lake Natoma Loop
(30 Miles)
This short ride takes the
American River Parkway Bike Trail from Carmichael to the
historic main street of
Folsom and loops around
Lake Natoma on the return.
Northern
Metropolitan Circumnavigation
(42
/ 79 / 116 Miles) This mostly flat ride tours quiet, pastoral areas of northern Sacramento and southern Sutter
counties. Starting in Carmichael, all routes proceed to Folsom
via the American River Parkway. The 42 mile ride returns directly via
Eureka Road and Beales Point. 79 & 116 mile riders continue to Newcastle, then enjoy the Ridge Road descent. The
79 mile ride returns via Loomis and Beales Point.
Sheridan and Verona host rest stops for the 116 mile ride on the way back to
Carmichael.
Rancho Seco Loop
(82 Miles) The first 23 miles of this ride shares the same course as the
Wilton Loop,
and the first 33 miles are very similar to the route to
Stockton and Modesto. The loop
visits Rancho Cordova, Sheldon, Wilton, Dillard,
Rancho Seco Park, and Sloughhouse.
Sacramento River Loop
(29 / 54 / 70 Miles) These rides visit the Sacramento River.
Both rides take the American
River Parkway Bike Trail & G Street to Central Sacramento, subsequently
proceeding along the west side of the Sacramento River on the Sacramento
River Bike Trail. The 29 mile route returns directly to the start via
Riverside Blvd, whereas the 54 & 70 mile rides continue on to Freeport and
return via Yolo County's South River Road and the
American River Parkway Bike
Trail. The 70 mile ride (aka Clarksburg
Loop) offers an additional loop in the Clarksburg area.
Sloughhouse Loop
(37 Miles)
This ride follows the American
River Parkway Bike Trail to Rossmore Bar Park, then transits Rancho Cordova
to the Folsom South Canal, which it follows for six quiet and peaceful
miles. The route continues south to Sloughhouse Road but does not
enter Sloughhouse itself. Grant Line Road provides a return to Rancho
Cordova. The longer
Wilton Loop shares identical beginning and
ending sections.
Southern
Metropolitan Circumnavigation
(53
/ 100 Miles) This flat ride visits rural areas of southern
Sacramento County. Starting in Carmichael, both routes proceed to
Folsom via the American River Parkway and to Rancho Murietta via Scott
Road. The 53 mile ride returns via Sloughhouse and the Folsom South
Canal. The 100 mile ride visits Wilton, Sheldon, Elk Grove, Franklin,
Hood, Freeport, and West Sacramento before rejoining the
American River Parkway on the return to Carmichael.
Wilton Loop
(54 Miles)
The first and last sections of this ride share the same course as the
Sloughhouse Loop.
Visiting Sheldon, Wilton, and Sloughhouse, this ride takes many more
quiet, rural roads than its shorter cousin.
